Eat clean, healthy foods that work for you!!  

Next to cooking and creating in the kitchen, I thing that I LOVE to do most is teach others how to cook and be in the kitchen with ease.  In today’s world with all the “BEST”, “HEALTHIEST”  diet or superfoods to eat it can be a little overwhelming.   I know!  I yo-yoed for years between all the “popular” diets while struggling with food allergies (dairy & gluten) and severe digestive issues.  And guess what, I never felt “my best” or “healthiest” because I was trying to eat what worked for OTHERS instead of for ME.

It wasn’t until I went back to the lessons that my French grandmother, Mimi, taught me both in and out of the kitchen that things started to change.  I stopped trying to follow the crowd or the processed “health” foods marketed as the new best thing.  I rolled up my sleeves and went back to cooking with real, unprocessed foods in their natural whole form.  I changed my approach from treating just the symptoms to looking at what the underlying causes of my symptoms could be and also what else was going on in my life.  Taking a holistically approach to improve my health, I saw immediate, positive changes to how I looked and felt.  Clearer skin, no brain-fog, migraines vanished, easier digestion and the best part so much energy!  What started out as an experiment turned into a passion that I have been able to share with my family and friends.

Hungry for more knowledge and tools, I dove into research, published studies and read countless books which lead me to Cornell University.  Here I received a certification in Plant-Based Nutritional.  Further fueled by my passion, I went on to became trained as a Certified Nutritionist Consultant (C.N.C) at NHI College.

As a busy mom who juggles a child with food sensitivities and a husband with food restrictions, I’ve learned what works for one doesn’t necessarily work for another.  Our bodies all have different histories and needs.  I have used what I have learnt in and out of the classroom/kitchen to plan and structure meals that provide families with clean, easy to make foods that won’t leave you in the kitchen for hours or overwhelmed with complicated recipes.

This blog is all about discovering foods that work for you and your family.  I share tips or ideas for substitutions to meet your tastes or restrictions and things you can do to make your weekday meals easy to throw together.  Lots of recipes for clean, healthy meals, snacks and drinks that the whole family can enjoy.  I am passionate about finding or creating healthy options that make people feel their best!  Whether you are a carnivore, plant-based or somewhere in the middle, there are recipes for all.  Dive and let’s start cooking!
